Lenid Irving Corlin (Len) born 1928 in Dorchester, Massachusetts passed away on
February 14, 2020 in Scarsdale, New York at the age of 91.

Len graduated from Northeastern University and received a Masters Degree in Journalism from Boston University.

As a founding partner of Allenger Advertising Agency in Brookline, Massachusetts, Len was launched
in to his journalism career. He was a Boston correspondent for Nationwide Trade News Service, and then Editor-in-Chief and Co-Publisher of Contract magazine, the New York-based commercial interior design publication servicing architects and interior designers in the commercial and institutional space.

Prominent in his industry for decades, Len traveled the world hosted by international manufacturers, through whom Contract would be an entry into the American design community.

Len helped to shape the early direction of contract design and its level of professionalism within the industry. He was liaison for the U.S. Contract Furnishing industry to several European countries in an advisory capacity.

Len leaves behind his wife of 64 years Judy Rubinoff Corlin, a nutritionist, diabetes health educator and author, with whom he dedicated years of social action and community work, deeply committed to advancing the quality of life for all people.

Some of these social action projects included the establishment of an Afternoon Advantage Program for fiscally challenged children at Mt. Vernon’s Edward William’s School The program pairs student passions with local professionals providing mentoring and skill training, including Len, who led a writing and public speaking workshop and published a school newspaper with original writings from school students.

Len and Judy started a Passover food drive, opening their home as a hub for the delivery of food baskets shared with underprivileged Jewish families in the Westchester and Bronx Communities.

Len’s journalism gifts were shared with Westchester Community College students and with countless young people seeking to brush up their college essays, business resumes and job interviewing skills. Len inspired many to pursue journalism careers by his example.

Predeceased by his son Kenneth Bruce Corlin who tragically died in his youth at age 11, Len leaves two other children, a son Rabbi Zalman (Scott) Corlin, 62 of Brooklyn, NY married with 7 grown and married children who made Len a great grandfather 19 times before his passing.
