Lela Cordero, born Lela Herring, 72, passed away on January 25, 2019, after a 3 year long battle with a rare lung disease. Lela was preceded in death by her father, Les Herring, mother, Clara Herring, her brother Ronnie Herring, father-in-law, Joe Cordero, Sr., mother-in-law, Frances Peltier, a brother-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law. Lela is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joe Cordero, her daughters Lisa (Cordero) Starcher, and Stacey (Cordero) Becerra, their husbands Rick Starcher (Lisa), and GB Becerra (Stacey), 5 grandchildren (Julie, Jill, Anthony, Kylie and Rickie), sister, Linda Vairetta, her aunt, Janice Newsome, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Lela loved to travel with the love of her life, Joe, especially to Hawaii and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Lela was a stay at home mom for 12 years until returning to work for, and eventually retiring from Stone & Youngberg in San Francisco after nearly 30 years of employment there.

Lela was a loving wife, mother and sister, and will be remembered for her kindness, and infectious smile.

A Celebration of Life was held in March 2019 in her honor in Pinole, CA.
