Leeda's obituary

I met Leeda through my mother-in-law Evelyn Mohr who unfortunately preceded Leeda in passing.  They met working at the VA hospital in the 70’s and remained friends since then. They enjoyed social events, crafts and even participated in the Red Hat Club in their retirement years.  Upon her passing I was able to find an old friend from her days back in New York and she was kind enough to share to following:

I met Leeda in the early 1960’s at Dr. Terry’s office where Leeda was his Dental Assistant. It was an immediate friendship as we talked endlessly and found that we enjoyed the same interests!

I must say that Leeda was one of the happiest, fun type person I have ever met. She always looked on the brighter side of life, Never a downer. And most of all, she had the heartiest LAUGH!!!

Leeda had the cutest little dog whom she named Muffin! They went on many walks and ventures together,. I must say that Leeda had so much energy that she actually out did sweet little Muffin on all of them!!

Leeda was a very good skier. Season's passes to Glenwood and Dawn Patrol at Kissing Bridge in New York; vacations at Mont Tremblant in Quebec! All were the greatest! However, it was so below zero in Canada, that we experienced nose frostbite!! But that didn’t stop us!!

Now Leeda was not a good gambler!! On our Vegas vacation, she didn’t win much money. We thought we knew how to win the house but found out we just lost money and a lot of time!!

Leeda was always fond of jewelry and she found this place where we went Mining for Diamonds! I don’t know how valuable these gemstones are but I still treasure the necklaces we made!!!

1983 brought me to Louisville KY and by that time Leeda was married and had moved away from Buffalo NY, We kept up occasionally by phone and cards but as the years went by, it was less and less.

I have always missed my friend, Leeda,. And miss her more now. But I know she is in a better place and that she is free from any pain.
