LeeAnn (Lee)'s obituary

LeeAnn (Lee) Yvette Shepherd fought fiercely and went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2023.

Lee was born on June 18, 1964 in Brooklyn, NY and was the first of seven children born to parents LeRoy and Angela Shepherd, both of whom were natives of Jamaica, West Indies and preceded her in death.

Lee grew up in Arverne, NY, attended Far Rockaway High School and graduated from the American Business Institute, NY.  Lee later spent many of her adult years in Brooklyn, NY, a stretch in Seattle, WA and ultimately settled in Oakland, CA.

Lee met the challenge of young motherhood early on and did her best for her only son, Tyrese, whom she loved with all of her heart until her dying day, who also shares her artistry, free-spirit and passion.

Resourceful, inquisitive and quick on her feet, Lee's career as a senior level Executive Assistant was well-suited to her insightful and collaborative nature.

Ever-learning, Lee's creativity and pursuits were limitless; From skincare creations, cooking, baking, philosophy, art collecting and poetry writing, to music aficionado, seamstress, fashionista and yes, even piloting to name a few! Lee was eclectic and indeed one of a kind. She was boundless imagination and vivid color.

Lee was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Dream Shepherd, a treasured sister, Anya Shepherd and her parents, LeRoy and Angela Shepherd.

Lee leaves to cherish her memory her son, Tyrese Shepherd; Three brothers, LeRoy Shepherd (Norma), James Shepherd (Sonji) and Phillip Shepherd (Huda); Two sisters, Karinne Shepherd-Rivera (Ruben) and Janeen Gabrielle Shepherd; Nephews and nieces, Kelvin Dinkins (Alexis), Taisha Dinkins, Quinlan Collier, Lloyd Shepherd, Ryan Shepherd, Jordyn Shepherd-Smalls, Lauren Shepherd, Ashley Shepherd, Jasmine Rivera, Cynde Shepherd, Aaliyah Shepherd and Mia Shepherd; Great Niece and nephews, Destini Sharpe, Jaeden Renquez, Breedon Nash and a host of additional family, loved ones and friends.

John 11:25-26  I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
