Lee's obituary

Lee V Johnson, 70, of Joliet, IL most recently living in Racine, WI., passed away on August 20th 2021. after a brief illness. Lee was born on January 10th 1951 to Louis and Ardelia Callahan in Summit-Argo, IL. After graduating from Argo Community High School in 1969 she went on to study nursing at Joliet Community College.

After graduation, she  worked as nurse for 18 years when health issues caused her to retire. She retired from Salem Villiage nursing home after 13 years. In 1966, she met and married Otha Ray Manning , they were married for 18 and  have 7  children, Otha RayJr, James, Nedra,  Marvin,  Will and Christina. Lee later went on to marry Herbert Johnson in in 1990 , they spent 23 years together until his passing April 13th 2013. Lee excelled at propping up her children and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others. We will miss her greatly. Lee was predeceased by her infant son William, husband Herbert Johnson parents Louis and Ardelia Callahan, brothers Clifton,  Willie,  Michael,  James, Henry. She is survived by her children,  OthaRay(Arleana) of Bowling Green, KY, James(Chantal) of Tinley Park, IL,  Marvin (Tanya) of Philadelphia,PA  Nedra Taylor (Jimmie) of Brownsville, TN,  Will(Symone) of Joliet, IL and Christina(Marvin) of Racine, WI.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to 2nd Baptist Church in Joliet There will be a celebration of life on August 27 at 2:30 at 2nd Baptist church in Joliet, IL
