Lee's obituary

Lee Hendricks Dreyfous, 71, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Born on March 29, 1951 in Pennsylvania, he was the son of Paul G. and Patricia Wang Dreyfous.

Lee was a member of Wampee Baptist Church. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren more than anything. He was the best Dad and Papa anyone could’ve ever asked for. Growing up in Connecticut, Lee spent many summers deep sea fishing with his dad and brothers and they spent the winters skiing. In high school, he was on the swim team and he held a diving record at his school. He even had the opportunity to train for the Olympics, but declined. Lee and his wife owned and operated Grand Strand Sandwich Company for 42 years. They have been retired for the last 5 years, leaving the business to their children to run. Lee was an avid photographer and loved poetry. He enjoyed golf, bowling, skiing, and playing pool. He also loved watching movies, especially action thrillers and old westerns. Lee had a good sense of humor and loved to laugh. There are many inside jokes shared with him among the family. He was an interesting man of many hobbies and talents. Of all of his many interests, his grandchildren were one of his biggest. He was at every sporting event they had and he would always practice with them at home. He never turned down an opportunity to play a game with them or do anything they asked, just to spend time with them. His sweet and caring personality will truly be missed by all.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Deborah Livingston Dreyfous; two daughters, Melissa Roberts (Travis) and Tara Emrich (Andy); two brothers, Chris and Jeff Dreyfous; seven grandchildren, Matty and Chloe Roberts, Kaitlyn and Aliyah Emrich, Delinda Gilmore, Tommy Hall, and Josie Vereen; special niece and nephew, Paige Livingston and Christopher Anad, among many other nieces and nephews that he loved; and his faithful four-legged friend, Sandi. He is predeceased by both of his parents and one sister, Sandy.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Wampee Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Southern Palms Memorial Gardens.
