Ledger's obituary

Ledger James Dalton, 17 of Dunkerton, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with AML.

Ledger was born on May 14, 2008, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Tim and Tina (Roquet) Dalton. He attended school in Dunkerton and was a 2026 graduate of Dunkerton High School.

Ledger enjoyed running his sports card business, which he planned to pursue as a career after high school. Ledger loved the outdoors; playing disc golf, fishing, the beach, traveling, going on long walks and feeling the sunshine. He also loved baseball and basketball and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Ledger is survived by his parents, Tim and Tina Dalton; his brother and sisters, along with his nieces and nephews; Brittany (Joe) Wilson, Kristine (Trevor) Dettman, Melanie (Jamie) Stickfort, Jessica (Jay) DuBois, Jasmine Dalton, and Izzy Even; eighteen nephews and nieces, with a niece on the way; and his high school sweetheart, Alex Shaner. Ledger is also survived by maternal grandmother, Jackie Knebel and his paternal grandparents, Terry and Ronda Dalton. He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Laney Rose Dalton.

A Celebration of life is being planned by the family and details will be announced as soon as the day and time are set. A private burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Dunkerton.
