I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Lee. I knew him for several years because of my employment in The Saugus School Department. He was a very nice man and a good friend. I worked directly with him on occasion and thought he was an excellent teacher. I never even heard him raise his voice to any student.
My condolences to your family.

I was so sorry to hear about Lee's passing. We lived in Saugus for 30 years down the street from the Maes family so we watched those kids grow up. Lee had been one of my grandsons teachers. My heart, love and prayers are with Lee's family.
I grew up across the street from The Maes family. My kids used to play with Lee's daughter. My son Shane had Lee as a teacher in middle school and was always so good to him. Lee you were such a great guy! RIP with your Dad now...Lisa Hotchkiss

Mr. Maes gave me my first pocket constitution nearly 10 years ago now, and I still have it to this day. He was a man who allowed individuals to see their potential and growth. He inspired so many through his kind words and acts throughout the years. Those who learned from Mr. Maes will forever be grateful to have been able to experience his love and light. My most sincere condolences and love to his family and friends during this time.
When my son needed someone to believe in him, Mr. Maes was there. My daughter alao has dond memories of his kindness.
He was truly a great spirit and a kind man. I am so sorry for your loss.
To Heather & Natalie and the Maes Family, I send my deepest sympathies for your great loss. Your dad and loved one was a terrific man and will never be forgotten. Sending love and prayers to all during this difficult time. ❤️🙏
