Background
Our Dear friend Leah was taken from us on New Years in one of the most horrific ways. She was the glue that held her family together. She had the biggest heart in the room. To know her was a privilege. You could feel her good spirit in that beautiful smile of hers. She always saw the good in people even when they did her wrong. She s my sister without the DNA to match and will be forever missed. For her sons who are left behind I’m asking that others help.
Leah had left home around 8pm to spend new years with a man she had know for less than a year. When she didn’t return the next morning her son Micah texted her to let her know he took care of her dog and have a good morning. That was around 10 a.m.. 10:45 Micah had Akron police knocking on his door to inform him that his mother passed away the night before and only gave him the coroners number. After several attempts to contact the coroner Micah was told his mother was a victim of a homicide but little details.
What we know now is that
he attacked and barricaded her in the house. She managed to break a door open to escape but he caught her again and tackled her in the front yard. That is where her Leahs life ended.

The neighbors did intervene by calling 911. The police responded in 2 minutes and while they tried to arrest him the neighbors did their best to save our Leah.
Leah had 3 children 2 boys and 1 girl. Micah of Akron who lives in the home Leah proudly purchased in 2020. Alex lives in Waco, Texas and will be home when arrangements are made or as soon as he is able.
Ashley her daughter passed away some years ago due to a medical issue.
I am setting up this memorial fund for her sons to offset the cost for funeral arrangements and any other needs these young men need at this time.
Funeral arrangements will be listed as soon as possible. We have a meeting with Auble funeral home in Orrville Wednesday. This message was approved by her son Micah.
