Leah's obituary
>Leah L. Sevier, 87, recently of Camp Verde, AZ, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on August 12, 2025.
Leah L. Sevier née Larson, was born and raised in Milwaukee Wisconsin on New Year's Eve, 1937. Throughout her childhood, she was known affectionately, by family and friends as "Toots", much to the delight and amusement (later) of her own children. In high school, she joined various clubs, played the French Horn in Marching Band, and made life-long friends. After high school she decided to join the United States Air Force. She loved the military, traveling, and especially the people she met. Stationed at Hickham Air Force Base in Hawaii, she met, fell in love with and married fellow airman, Dale S. Sevier. In 1960, the newlyweds were discharged and moved to his hometown of Burbank, California. In southern California, they raised three children, Jackie, Kelly and Brian. Leah always liked to say that she "never met a stranger", and her children will attest to this! She loved and was curious about people her entire life. She was outgoing, had eclectic taste in music, was adventurous, religious, and loved to read and learn. She also loved to laugh, enjoyed a wide variety of musical genres, and generally enjoyed being around family and friends. Of late, even during her struggles with health, memory loss and confusion, she was still social, making friends and supporting others. She lost the love of her life, Dale, a decade ago after nearly 55 years of marriage. To her children, 'Mom' passed on intelligence and humor, as well as a love of reading, learning, music and curiosity about others. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Services will be small, (immediate family only) and private at a later date.
