This is such a lovely testament to a beautiful relationship. I’m so sorry for this painful loss.
My condolences on your sweet girl. There are no words. Just know you were the best mom and she had the best care with you.

Oh my dear sweet Leah girl.....we got to dogsit you many times and most of the times you were very good, however Lily did piss you off now and then and you had to give her a warning. And, we quickly learned that Rod should never wear a hat around you or carry tent poles.  We loved you so much especially because you loved our Meggie....I always knew you were taking care of her when we couldn't.  My favorite memories, besides your incredible talent of planting your poop sideways on a tree, are of you hiding under the porch furniture at the cabin shaking in terror at the hummingbirds. We could not convince you that they were harmless and not after you! Rest in peace dear girl, give Lola, Lucy and Jack a big scratch on the belly for us!  Love never dies and the love between humans and pups is so very honest and real and deep. Even though your brain was broken, you were deeply loved.  No doggie can ever replace you in Meggie's eyes, this is true, but we are kind of excited for her to experience a normal dog someday.

LOVE you Leah girl,

Mommy's mommy

Meghan, I am so very sorry to hear that Leah died. She was so beautifully seen, loved and cared for by you~what a gift you were to each other. I can only imagine your heavy heart, and hope you take some comfort in knowing how much you meant to her, her antics, and fierce love for you.
My deepest condolences, Meghan. You wrote a lovely obituary for Leah, and she knew you were her very best, most reliable, forever person. It hits so deep, because we love them like people, as they should be loved. They make our lives so good, know that you made her life so, so good too.

Meghan, you are an example of the best Doggie mom. You love fiercely and Leah was blessed by you as much as you by her. We are so sorry for the parting. It is so hard!  Sending love ❤️
