Lea's obituary

Lea Potter was a loving mother, devoted daughter, cherished sister, and loyal friend whose light touched everyone who knew her. She was the proud mother of four children – Jordan Durfey, Ariel Durfey (Jacob Harris), Ryan Durfey, and Riley Durfey – who were the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. Everything Lea did was rooted in her deep love for her children, and she took immense pride in creating meaningful traditions, especially during holidays and family gatherings, ensuring every moment was special and filled with love.

Lea was the beloved daughter of Sarah Spencer (Kent Spencer) and was preceded in death by her father, Rodney L. Potter. She shared a close bond with her family and she was number 4 of seven siblings: Tanya Jolley, Clinton Potter, Michael Potter (Kristin Potter), Lisa Smith (Dave Smith), James Potter (Brandi Potter), and Kenneth Potter (Amanda Potter). She was also a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews who adored her and will forever carry her love in their hearts. Lea was previously married to Michael Simons and then Brian Durfey.

With an outgoing personality and a radiant, winning smile, Lea had a rare ability to light up any room she entered. She loved nature and adventure, always eager to explore what came next, whether it was a new experience outdoors or standing on the sidelines cheering passionately for her children at their sporting events.

Lea had a special gift with animals, particularly dogs, and was known for her remarkable talent and patience in training them. Her compassion extended into her professional life as well. As a successful business owner and skilled massage therapist, Lea was deeply passionate about helping others heal, dedicating herself to improving both the physical and emotional well-being of those she served.

After a long and courageous battle with illness, Lea's life was tragically taken far too soon on January 25, 2026. She will be remembered as a young, vibrant woman – a devoted mother, a driven business owner, a loving daughter and sister, and a friend whose kindness and warmth left a lasting impression.

Lea's legacy lives on through her children, her family, and the countless lives she touched with her generosity, strength, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Rest in peace, our sweet Lea.

We miss you mom.

There will be a Celebration of Lea's Life, February 5, 2026 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St. Tooele, Utah.
