Larry's obituary
Lawrence Elliot Taylor, 73, of Concord, NH, passed away on February 13, 2023, surrounded by love after a hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s disease. Larry, as he was known to family and friends, was born to James and Thelma Taylor, on February 8, 1950, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and moved to New England when he was a teenager. He graduated from Warren High School in Massachusetts and continued his education at RCA Institute in New York.
Larry worked at Digital Equipment Corporation as a service technician, as well as a broadcast engineer at WNDS TV50 and later at NH Public Television, changing their systems from analog to digital.
Larry had a passion for all things electronic and could often be found tinkering at the dining room table. Larry was known for his one-liners, his love of camping, and the Boston Red Sox. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and ham radio. The most important things to Larry were his family and his Savior. He served as a missionary for four years, went on several mission trips, and oversaw a television ministry at his church while serving as a leader and deacon.
Larry is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Grace, and his four children (and spouses), James (April) Taylor of Goffstown, Daniel (Amanda) Taylor of Antrim, Bethany Taylor of Concord, and Rebekah (Eric) Lockhart of Uganda. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Brown of Virginia, and his grandchildren; Brooke, Raelyn, and Natalie Taylor; Joshua, Emma, and Owen Roberge; and Elijah, Noah, Gavin, and Corban Lockhart; and many nieces and nephews.
Larry’s family will host a Celebration of Life service at CenterPoint Church in Concord on Thursday, February 23, from 2 – 4 pm. Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories and stories. In lieu of flowers, Larry and his family ask you to please consider making a donation in his name to the CenterPoint Mexico Missions Project (centerpoinnh.org) or Send Relief (sendrelief.org)
