Larry's obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Sexton, 67, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2024, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He was born on June 23, 1956, in Ottawa, IL to Francis and Laurie Ann Sexton.

Larry was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend. He will be remembered for his hard work, unwavering faith, and love for his family.

Throughout his life, Larry worked in all facets of the construction industry. He held long tenure with Turner Construction, Collins and Arnold Construction, and was working with Benning Construction Company at the time of his passing. He founded and fostered Reliable Deck, for years supporting our local community as he helped people achieve their 'Dream Deck-stination.'

In his free time, Larry enjoyed designing and building, fishing (and some catching) in local lakes and the Everglades, and supporting his children's passions and interests. He always found joy in spending time with his family and friends, whether that be sporting events with and for his family or card club with his church small group.

Larry is survived by his wife, Susan Capitan Sexton; children, Chelsea Sexton, Jonny Sexton, and Jessie (Chris) Lazzell; grandson, Baby Lazzell; as well as his siblings: Margo (Neil) Richardson, Kay (Gene) Wandling, Mike (Jean) Sexton, and Beth (Mark) Richardson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Laurie Ann Sexton, and his sister, Ann (Kon) McQuiston.

A memorial service will be held later this summer at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Marietta, GA, after the birth of Larry's first grandson. Susan will be establishing a college fund from any donations for their current and future grandchildren. Please direct donations (in lieu of flowers) to her so she can create this fund.

Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will forever live on in our hearts.
