Lawrence's obituary
Larry is survived by his wife; Ruth (Thurk), children; Tyler, Jason and Erin (Graham), and Ryan and Michele (Chabot), grandchildren; Zachary, Cole, Ella, Madison, and Maxwell. Sister; Virginia Furnish. He was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence and Viola (Ollie) Mitchler, brothers; Donald, and Jerry.
Larry was born August 21, 1942 in Appleton, Wisconsin. He graduated from Appleton West High School in 1960 and never missed a reunion. He married Ruth on September 24, 1966 in Appleton, Wisconsin. He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 and was stationed in Japan and New Mexico. He began working for General Electric in 1966 and retired from the company in 2009. The family moved to Thornton, Colorado in 1978.
Larry was a kind and gentle man who loved his wife, boys and his family which included all friends and relatives. He loved to swim, workout, and enjoyed a regular massage. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and connoisseur of all things food. He was a member of the American Legion and Summit of Peace Lutheran Church.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 P.M., January 29, 2019 at Summit of Peace Lutheran Church, 4661 E 136th AVE, Thornton, Colorado. A reception will follow at the American Legion at 3 P.M., 11081 Irma Dr. Thornton, Colorado. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of our hero. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice. Our family would like to thank all of you for your condolences and outpouring of support.
