Lawrence's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence “Larry” Esposito, a man of warmth, wit, resilience, and an unforgettable sense of humor. Fondly known as Larry, Wentz, or Papa, he was born on April 22, 1945, and left this world on February 26, 2026.
Lawrence will be remembered for his caring and kind nature, his ability to bring laughter to every situation, and his remarkable ability to find the silver lining in any situation. One of his greatest lessons to those around him was the importance of laughter. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh, and his endless dirty jokes will be fondly remembered and retold. Lawrence believed that the ability to laugh through life’s challenges was a testament to the strength of the human spirit.
Among his many accomplishments were his service in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, his devoted 52-year marriage to his beloved wife Christina, and the family he cherished deeply. Though he had many proud moments in life, Lawrence often joked that his greatest accomplishment was successfully evading the NYPD in his younger years.
His charismatic, larger-than-life personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the laughter, stories, and kindness he inspired in others. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christina Esposito; his son, Brian Esposito; his daughter, Laura Dick, and her husband Joseph Dick; and the lights of his life, his grandchildren Hope, Quinn, and Cal. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews: John, Gerald, Donna, Diane, Little John, Kevin, and Lee Ann and so many of their beautiful spouses and children.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carmela Esposito; his siblings, John Esposito (Grace), Maryann Esposito, Nina Martin (John); and his niece, Pauline Martin.
A celebration of life for Lawrence will be held on March 20. Please consider contributing to “A Circle of Support for Christina”, honoring Lawrence’s lifelong devotion to caring for his family. Donations may be made at:

May we continue to remember Lawrence through joyous laughter and acts of kindness, just as he would have wanted. He will be missed beyond words and loved always.
