It breaks my heart to share this devastating news. My Mothers long-term partner, Lawrence Cohen passed away this morning at 12:02am while he was being hospitalized as they prepared to do another heart surgery on him once his vitals were stabilized. Unfortunately, they were not able to stabilize him during the night and they couldn’t revive him once he flat lined. Larry has been battling cancer in his lymph nodes & esophagus for the last 5 years. He recently started having issues with his heart as well. However, he was still a survivor and never willingly gave up the battle.

While we knew his health was declining, his passing still comes as a devastating shock to our family. Larry was a son, a brother, a father, and a grandpa and is loved and will be missed very much.

Larry was like a father to me. He has been part of my life since I was 7 years old. He’s the only father figure I’ve ever had. He’s watched me go through life obstacles and learn from them & grow into the woman I’ve become. I’m forever grateful for all the memories we shared & glad I got the opportunity to make him proud of the woman I’ve grown to be.

I’m thankful that Ryan Johnson and I could bless Larry with a grandson that he treated like his own and the opportunity to be part of Nash’s life and the amazing grandpa he was meant to be. My son, Nash & Larry got to make many memories together during his time here that we will forever cherish. I’m fortunate that Nash got to know him in the ways I did when I was child and carry those memories with him through life.

We’ve been bracing ourselves to prepare for this outcome but didn’t expect it this soon. It’s never gets easy to loose someone you love. Please share your love and support with our family & keep us in your prayers. Feel free to share your memories you shared with Lawrence Cohen as well.

At this time, we’re still coping with this tragedy and do not have any updates at this time regarding funeral arrangements. I’ll make an update once we know more details.
