Lawrence's obituary

In Loving Memory of Larry Busnardo

Lawrence "Larry" Victor Busnardo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and veteran, passed away peacefully in faith at his home in South Carolina at the age of 77. A kind soul with a generous heart, Larry was someone whose presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met. To know him was truly to love him.

Born in New Britain, Connecticut, Larry grew up in the close-knit community of Kensington, where he developed a lifelong love for baseball, good food and meaningful conversations. After graduating, he proudly served his country as a United States Marine, a role that shaped his values of discipline, courage and commitment.

Following his time in the military, Larry went on to serve his community for over 30 years as a dedicated postal letter carrier. He took great pride in his work and became a familiar, trusted and loved figure on his route, always willing to lend a hand. His natural ability to connect with people and offer thoughtful, genuine advice made him a trusted confidant and a great sounding board to many.

Larry later spent time living in Florida before settling in South Carolina, which he came to call his final and most cherished home. Larry had a passion for cooking and an even greater love for eating, especially when surrounded by friends and family. Whether grilling in the backyard or making his weekly Saturday pizzas, he found joy in sharing food, conversation and laughter. He also never lost his love for baseball, both as a player and as a devoted Yankees fan.

Larry's kindness, wisdom and humor touched the lives of so many. He will be remembered not just for the life he lived, but for the love and advice he gave freely, wholeheartedly and without condition. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. And in his own words, “It is what it is”.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Mascatelli-Busnardo; his son, Jason Busnardo; his daughter, Joyce Busnardo-Manno, and her husband, Dominick Manno; his bonus daughter, Moselle Rider, and her husband, Nick Rider; his cherished grandson, Dominick “DJ” Lawrence Manno; his beloved granddaughter, Ava Rider and his favorite dog, Cubby.
