"The light is changing".. How often she said the words, but now they truly have meaning. Every sunset from this day on will be a reminder of the finest mother, grandmother or great grandmother any child could hope for.

Born November 16, 1935, Lavonne F. Ackerley passed from this world on August 5, 2020. A life well lived, working tirelessly to fulfill her vision of what family should be. Countless holidays and gatherings celebrated her gift of love to anyone who knew her. She loved nothing more than the comforting view of her quiet flower gardens, viewed from her favorite chair on her porch.

Preceeded in death by her parents Beauford and Helen Kleidon, Sister Noreen, daughter Karen and son Douglas. Survived by her brother Beauford (Butch), Sons Wesley, Ronald and Gregory. Daughters Doris Oberg and Renata Wittner. Along with many grand/great grandchildren who filled her heart with the joy of seeing love made manifest in the flesh, and new life springing forth from the old.

A voracious reader and learner, she never stopped working to improve herself or her understanding of the world around her. A nearly fanatical obsession with cooking often found her formulating her own versions of recipes that frequently surpassed the originals. She loved truly setting a table and gatherings were often as beautiful to look at as the food was delicious.

She built strong lasting bonds of friendship with people she enjoyed. She stayed in frequent contact with many people she knew over the years. She was ever grateful for the time she got to spend in the company of extended family and her modest group of long time friends. She adored each and every one of you.

So now her light has passed. Her time with us may have ended, but the effect of the light she brought to each and every one of us will never fade.

We will love and miss you all of our days.
