Laurie always saw through people's BS and knew exactly how to reach them and she alway had a positive outlook, even in the worst moments of her health. She never let it get in the way of appreciating life.

I love her soul and always will appreciate the fact that she said I was an Artist even when I didnt' believe it.

She left a huge impact on a lot of people, I wish I had been able to spend more time with her to get to know her better, but i think truthfully I always knew she was too good for this Earth.

My memories of a young Laurie at Kiptopeke include her supervision of the teachers' kids during faculty meetings when my oldest was young. Being a teacher with kids at your school can be stressful after regular school hours. Laurie was a great help and undoubtedly kept that group of teachers' kids out of trouble. While it has been many years since I've seen her in person, I've enjoyed communicating with her on FB and seeing her beautiful family grow. I smiled when I saw her asking for recommendations for a manicure a few days before she passed. I so hope that she got to treat herself to that manicure. Connie, David, Anna, and Kaylee I am so sorry for your loss and so grateful that the world got to enjoy her and her commitment to giving. The world is a better place because she was here.

Laurie and I were childhood friends and classmates. We lost contact after high school, but I still have a piece of leather belt that she gave me as a joke in 7th grade.
