As a 22-year-old Norwegian with a three-month work permit in US and only a recommendation from a distant sailing acquaintance of Larry, he – together with his family – opened his home to me and took care of me forover three unforgettable weeks.
Their warmth and genuine hospitality gave me an experience that has lived in my heart for 41 years, and I have told it to hundreds of people. My toothbrush is still placed in the beer-mug Larry bought me in Sea World.
I tried to express my deep gratitude when he and Sandra visited us in Oslo.
This story has also made a strong impression on my sons. One of them stopped by on a journey to SD to convey my gratitude in person. My second son arrived just two weeks too late, this January.
I remain deeply grateful to Larry and the Manzer Family. My warmest thoughts and heartfelt sympathy goes to them.

Words cannot express how much Larry meant to me. Our friendship was a gift I will always treasure, full of warmth, honesty, and countless unforgettable moments. I will miss this special friend, but I am so grateful for the time we shared. Sending love, strength and heartfelt sympathy to all who loved him.

We had just moved back to San Diego and I was interested in learning how to sail. Larry encouraged me to take sailing lessons. Sandy went with me and we had fun sailing. Thank you to Larry for the sailing experience I would not have enjoyed without you.
