Larry's obituary

Laurence R. “Larry” Hock passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 27 at the age of 62.

Larry was born in Bronx, New York on January 21, 1961. He is survived by his wife, Dawn, and their daughters Brianna and Alexandra; his brother, Adam Hock; and is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Marilyn Hock and uncle Steve Vincent.

Everyone who knew Larry would agree that he lived his life with passion, purpose, and a never-give-up attitude. His antics were legendary, and those who knew him have their own stories to share. Although Larry could seem intimidating with his large stature and booming voice, he had great compassion for others and never missed an opportunity to let someone know just how special they were and the unique value they brought to this world.

Growing up in Hartsdale, NY, Larry became a life-long sports enthusiast. After graduating high school, Larry played football for Westchester Community College and received a scholarship to play at the University of Texas-El Paso, where he was a stand-out wide receiver. He later signed a free agent contract with the New York Jets.

After Larry met the love of his life, Dawn (née Graham), he relocated to Tampa, Florida. Larry and Dawn were married in April 2001 and remained so for the rest of his life, spending more than 21 years side by side building their life together. In 2002 they welcomed their first daughter Brianna, and their second daughter Alexandra in 2005.

Professionally, Larry was just as passionate about his career, having been a partner in various consulting and staffing companies, most recently as COO of SourceTek.

A private service and reception for family and close friends will be held Friday, February 3.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a trust fund established for his daughters, details to be provided.
