Lauren's obituary

We are devastated to announce the passing of our beautiful wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, Lauren Kate Mullins Wagner. Lauren left this world Tuesday, March 4, 2025 sleeping in the arms of her beloved husband, partner & best friend.

Headstrong from the start. Lauren was born in Dayton, Ohio and lived in San Diego, California. Lauren was fiercely independent, outspoken and had a hilarious sense of humor.  Married for 4 years she adored her husband, Hunter and he made it more than evident that his devotion to her knew no bounds. Lauren loved her friends and family deeply and was honored to proudly boast that she had the best big brother in the world, Ty. She shared a bond with her cousin and lifelong friend, Sierra that will never be broken. If given more time it is without a doubt that she would have been the best aunt to her first niece, Addy and a stedfast supporter to her new sister-in-law, Olivia.

Lauren was fearless and brave. Always outspoken against social injustice, pediatric cancer awareness and ostomy advocacy . Lauren often spoke freely with no restraint. She made an impression on the lives of all those around her. Even when Lauren was angry or sad, she spoke her mind but never let it harden her heart for others. Lauren knew she was loved by Jesus and trusted her place with Him even when the church told her differently.

Lauren, we will never forget you and we will always love you. Our hearts ache your infinite loss but we are so happy you are no longer suffering. We hope to continue to speak out against injustice and love just as deeply as you did. We cannot wait to be reunited with you one day. Lauren is preceded in death by many relatives but it is with comfort that she will join her great grandmother, Jean Kincade of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and her great aunt, June Lawrence of Stone Ridge, New York as well as her two childhood dogs, Baxter and Bailey.

Lauren is survived by her husband, Hunter Wagner of Halletsville, Texas and her three dogs. Her mother, Jen Mullins, father, Chad Mullins, brother, Ty Mullins & sister-in-law, Olivia Stober of San Diego, California. Her grandmother, Joan Martin of Sydney, Maine. Her grandparents, Bobby and Sherry Mullins of Fremont, North Carolina. Her extended family consists of many uncles and aunts, Todd & Cassie Mullins, Jacob Mullins, Alex & Jes Mullins as well as her aunt, Chrissy Mitchell of West Virginia. Cousins, Sierra Thorne & Jagger Bjork of North Carolina. Mother-in- law, Tara Wagner of Texas, sister-in-law, Chaysea Armer, niece, Adalynne Armer of Alabama and brother-in law, Bostyn Wagner of Texas.

Lauren has requested no funeral services and with selflessness asked that her body be used for further cancer research to ensure that other families suffering from Constitutional Mismatch Repair Deficiency obtain more answers to combat this horrific and rare genetic condition. Lauren’s donations have been provided to The University of California San Diego, Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego, Sicks Kids CMMRD consortium in Toronto, Canada and Harvard University’s Brain Tissue Resource Center. A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date.
