Lauren's obituary

Lauren Ashley Milano: A Shining Light to All

Lauren was born in Huntington Hospital in Huntington, New York, the youngest of 3 daughters. Being so small, she was lovingly referred to as Sprite or Smurfette. At little more than a toddler, Lauren showed empathy and compassion for all animals and humans. While growing up, there were always pet hamsters, rats, mice, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, cats, and dogs in the home.

Lauren had a beautiful voice and loved to sing country music songs. After turning 13 in 1998, she won first place in the Great Allentown Fair Karaoke contest in the 13 - 19 year old contest. Afterwards, she often sang locally in the country music bands her parents were involved in. As she grew older, her style of music changed but her voice remained gorgeous as ever. She received her first guitar as her interest in learning to play emerged. While never fully accomplished, that guitar still brought her much joy.

She loved writing letters to her mom nearly every day in school. All the letters she wrote ended with "I love you the best, Lauren Milano." There's never a lack of precious memories that bring smiles and a little chuckle at the same time. Lauren's dry wit and humor can keep others laughing for hours. Many "operation relocations" ensued, and the memories fill us with uncontrollable laughter.  Lauren remains at the heart of our most treasured inside jokes and memories. Her infectious humor and playful nature continue to bring joy and laughter to those who love her most.

She loved spending time with family, often organizing get-togethers with her mother, sisters, and nieces. At times this erupted into a dance party, teaching her nieces how to dance in her special, unique way.

Lauren shone as a vibrant and extraordinary individual, embracing her unique spirit and quirky charm. She often wore bright, colorful clothes and playful earrings - a testament to the way she viewed life. Throughout all her years and to the very end, she did things her way.  Her spirit remains bright and lively, inspiring us with her resilience and zest for life.

Lauren was extremely kindhearted, forgiving and had the gift of finding positivity even in the most difficult of situations - along with her love of life! Taking long walks at the park was one of her favorite things, often encountering small animals along the way. She often took walks at her lunch breaks while working for Berkheimer, the company she worked for for many years.

Lauren embraced a lifestyle that reflected her deep respect for all living beings and her passion for creating a better world. She was a proud vegan and found joy in connecting with like-minded communities. She cherished the peacefulness of meditation, the joy of learning, and the fulfillment she found in exploring ways to make the world a kinder place for humans and animals.  Lauren's unwavering passion for animal advocacy continues to inspire us all, leaving a permanent mark on our hearts. She leaves a legacy of compassion and selflessness toward the countless lives she touched.  Lauren, you are forever cherished, honored, and alive in our hearts. Your love for animals continues to be a guiding light, inspiring us to make a difference.

Her love, kindness, and generosity will forever be celebrated by her loving family: Her mother, Linda Milano. Her father, Jack Milano. Her sisters, Erin Cascioli and husband Chris, and Kristin Milano and husband Peter Sawin. Her three precious nieces, Zoe Cascioli, Emelia Milano-Sawin, and Truly Milano-Sawin.  Her beloved cat, Emma. Her dear friend, Evan Merritt.

Two events will be held in Lauren's honor:

  1. An animal adoption event at the Lehigh Valley Humane Society. Please join us on Sunday, December 8th from 12 pm - 4 pm at the Lehigh Valley Humane Society on Dixon St in Allentown, PA. Adoption fees for most animals in need of forever homes are covered in Lauren's name.
  2. A celebration of Lauren's life will be held at a later date. All family and friends will be notified once plans are finalized.

In celebration of Lauren's life and legacy, we invite you to consider making a donation in her honor to Fluffy Butt Rescue (https://www.fluffybuttrescue.…)
