Lauren's obituary
She was born on Sept. 4, 1984 in Columbia, MO. A 2003 graduate of Francis Howell Central High School in Cottleville, MO, Lauren went on to Maryville University in St. Louis where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She held positions as an Emergency Room Nurse at Barnes Hospital in downtown St. Louis and St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Charles. In 2017 the family moved to Florida where she worked in the ER at Tampa General Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Jonathan McCoy, three daughters, Holly, Hannah, Hailey, and one son, Conner, all of Lithia, FL. She will be deeply missed by her parents, Joseph and Sylvia Zimmerman of St. Peters, her Sister, Monica (John) Berra of Wentzville, her Brother, and Ryan (Stephanie) Zimmerman of OFallon. Surviving Aunts and Uncles are Jim Zimmerman, Paul (Donna) Zimmerman, Dan (Penny) Zimmerman, and Marian (Dave) Becker. Mother and Father in Law are Glenn and Ellen McCoy and extended family includes Jason (Elena) McCoy, Jeff (Stephanie) McCoy, and Julie (Rick) Little. She leaves behind many Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Lauren had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul. She wanted everyone to be happy and loved to surprise people, whether it be a special meal, an event she planned, a small thoughtful gift or sometimes simply “here I am”. Pure joy radiated when she spoke of her children. She loved them dearly, enjoyed their individual personalities, accomplishments and attending their sports events. She took pride in being a nurse, touching many lives in her career and always striving for a higher level of responsibility. Having a servant’s heart from a young age, Lauren’s first summer job was as a Lifeguard. She worked as an aide in a Nursing home and served in the Children’s ministry at church during her High School years.
Lauren was a passionate novice photographer. She liked gardening and baking. She loved the ocean, beach, palm trees and travel. She especially treasured making memories and the annual Zimmerman family camping week at Table Rock Lake each summer; in fact, she insisted this tradition be continued with her husband and young family.
A Memorial Service honoring Lauren’s life will be held at Harvester Christian Church in St. Charles, MO on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. The service begins at 1:00 pm and visitation with the family will be immediately afterwards until 3:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
