Lauren's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lauren June Chacon, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lauren, who was born on August 12, 1970, in Brockport, NY, departed this life peacefully at her home in Brockport on October 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and the animals she cherished.

Lauren was the loving daughter of Virginia and Joseph Fildrad, and her spirit was shaped by the love and guidance they provided throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents but is lovingly remembered by her husband, Anthony Chacon, to whom she was married in Buffalo, NY, in 1993. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy that comes from nurturing a family.

Lauren is survived by her cherished sisters, Amy Maryone and Penelope Fildrad, and beloved half-siblings, Joey Fildrad, Mandy Simmons, and Lisa Woschleger. Her legacy continues through her devoted children, Abigail Chacon and Mark Chacon, who carry forward her spirit of kindness and generosity. Lauren was also a proud grandmother, doting on her grandchildren Kathryn Johnson, Kelly Johnson, and Jay Chacon, whose lives she enriched with her warmth and wisdom.

Lauren’s family was her greatest joy, and she cherished her many adored nieces and nephews, including Chloe Maryone, Tim Maryone, Antonio Simmons, Alejandro Simmons, Angelina Simmons, Zoe Woschleger, Brandon Woschleger, and Haley Woschleger. She was also a proud great-aunt to her great-nieces and great-nephews, Amilio Simmons and Isabel Woschleger. Each family interaction was a source of happiness for Lauren, and she will be deeply missed by all who were touched by her nurturing spirit.

An accomplished and dedicated professional, Lauren earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1998 after completing her undergraduate studies at Syracuse University and furthering her education at the University of Rochester. Her passion for animals was evident not only in her career but also in her personal life. Lauren found immense peace and joy in caring for her horses and fostering any animal she could get her hands on. Her beloved farm was a sanctuary where she expressed her love for all living creatures, creating a haven of safety and comfort.
