Laura's obituary

Laura Wuarin passed away on December 4th, 2023. She died from complications due to multiple sclerosis.

In her life, Laura was the most proud of being a mother. She loved her daughters unconditionally and gave them the world. Magali embodies Laura's fierce independence. Celine embodies Laura's instincts to help and give back. Not only will her daughters carry forward their mother's love of life and love of learning, Laura’s love of Scrabble and Rumikub made a lasting impression and will continue to be played among loved ones for generations.

Laura was a wife to Jean-Pierre. It was her intelligence and candidness that attracted him to her. Throughout their marriage, Laura and Jean-Pierre crossed seas and state lines in support of each others' dreams. Once settled in Colorado, they enjoyed building a family together. They traveled often, whether on small day drives or trips as far as India. Laura’s last years brought on unimaginable hardships, yet together, JP and Laura were brave, determined, and loyal. A true testament to the power of their love.

Laura was a sister to Evelyn. Laura and Evelyn are share special sisterhood and are bonded through both incredibly challenging and unspeakably beautiful life experiences. No matter where they were in the world, they would arrive at each others side when needed. Evelyn has always been Laura's fiercest advocate, and Laura Evelyn's most sacred confidant.

An altruist to her very core, Laura's most fulfilled years were those she spent building her career as a psychiatrist. She was an exceptional psychiatrist and cared profoundly for her patients. She began practicing psychiatry in 2001 in Fort Collins, Colorado and continued her successful private practice in Denver, Colorado until 2014 at which point she suffered a stroke and was no longer able to work.

Laura made a meaningful and beautiful difference in many peoples lives. She was generous, humble, and in her laugh you could hear her gentleness and warmth. Above all, Laura showed us what it means to be selfless and to truly, unconditionally wish happiness, wellness and peace upon the world. She found sincere pleasure in the success and wellbeing of others. We thank you for these gifts, Laura, and for helping us become better people.

JP, Maggie and Celine want to ensure that the incredible care and love given to Laura by Jessica Policiano is recognized and celebrated at this time. Jessica was Laura's CNA for two and a half years. Throughout that entire period of time, Jessica took care of Laura's every need, every day. Jessica is a true blessing to the Wuarin family. Never could they have imagined meeting someone who could so selflessly, calmly and bravely help Laura through the end stage MS, the most challenging experience of their lives. Laura loved you, Jess. Thank you for everything.
