Laura Velez was a truly special woman whose kindness shaped more lives than she probably ever realized. When I was in grade school, during some difficult times in my own home, Laura welcomed me into hers without hesitation. (I was close friends with Laurie in middle school.) Her home became a place of comfort, stability, and warmth when I needed it most.

She and Joe never made me feel like a guest—I was treated like family. I shared meals at their table, celebrated alongside them, and experienced the kind of generosity and inclusion that stays with a person forever. Laura had a natural gift for motherhood; she cared deeply, gave freely, and made everyone around her feel safe and loved.

I will always be grateful for the role she played in my life. She helped carry me through moments of chaos with quiet strength and compassion. Laura was deeply loved, and her impact will continue to live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know her.

I’ll always remember “Aunt Laura’s” beautiful smile that seemingly never left her cheerful face. Laura’s homemade food was unbeatable and her life advice was timely and spot on! Sending much love, respect, and fond memories.

Mom was the very heart of our…
Mom was the very heart of our family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Our lives will never be the same without her. We will miss her so much. Rest in peace to a mother who was loving, caring, and giving always. Love you mom.

Laura cared for me and my brothers when we were little. I was just a baby I’m pretty sure, but my brothers remember sleepovers at her house and movies and Chuckie cheese days. My mom spoke so highly of Laura for years and years. & just this weekend, my dad asked me if I remembered her and told me stories of when she was a big part of our lives.

From all of the Langes, (Ryan, Josh, Zach, and Jessie), we are deeply sorry for your loss and are grateful for the love and memories she has left us with, more than 25 years later.

Rest in Peace, Laura. Thank you for everything you did for so many young children!

Your Mom and Dad were both so kind to me when I was a kid, growing up in a crazy family. I will always be grateful for their charity when I really needed it. I'm very sorry for your loss. - Terri McGurn
Rest in peace my dear sister. Your legacy lives on in your children, grandchildren and great grandchild. You will always be my hero.
