It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Laura Oglesby (Everhart), who peacefully departed this life on January 3, 2024, aged 82. Born on December 28, 1941, Laura's life was a testament of resilience, faith, and love.

Laura is predeceased by her mother, Laura Mae Everhart; her father, Henry Thomas Everhart; her beloved husband, James Oglesby, whom she married in 1962 and later divorced in 1984; her cherished daughter, Laura Rochelle Oglesby; and her siblings, Georgia Mae Everhart and Myrtle Everhart.

The memory of Laura will be forever etched in the hearts of those she left behind, including her daughter Carol Oglesby; her caring siblings, Margie Smith, and Thomas Everhart; and her adored grandchildren, Charisse Oglesby, Deja Oglesby, Jamir Oglesby, Arlandus Oglesby, and Chi'Sean Oglesby.

Professionally known for her strong will and helpful nature, Laura was also a loving and very stubborn individual. Her strong faith in Christ was the compass that guided her throughout her life, and her teachings of kindness and generosity will live on. Her heartfelt actions and her legacy of faith will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate to cross her path, and she will be deeply missed.

A viewing for Laura will be held on January 12, 2024, at 1:00 AM at Lucas Memorial Chapel, followed by a memorial service at the same location at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you honor Laura's memory by carrying her lessons forward, and continuing to help those in need. From the life she lived to the love she shared, Laura Oglesby will never be forgotten.
