It not about how much money you made, it’s about how much you saved!

Laura and I were friends when she was teaching for the University of Maryland in Germany during the 1970s when I was serving in the Army and a broadcaster on the American Forces Network Radio & Television system.
She was a great for women, especially women of color. We worked together on the International Assciation of Professional Women to bring special services units to abused and endangered Women and children on Army & Air Force installations in Europe - what has morphed into Military One Force.
Love & Miss you my friend ❤️

WHAT MADE LAURA LYONS DIFFERENT FROM MOST PEOPLE YOU KNOW?
The things that made Laura Lyons different from most people to me. First let me begin by giving a little history of our connection. Laura was my first cousin. Her father was my mother’s brother. We were around the same age. She was concerned about our health and wanted you to eat the right foods and be in good health.
Laura wanted you to experience the different parts of the country and cultures. To see how others in the world lived.
It was important to her for you to own some property or land and be able to keep it. She convinced me to remodel my home instead of selling it. She wanted you to know the value of the land and the value of owning your own land.
Once Laura invited us to come to Puerto Rico and stay in her building for free during our honeymoon. Laura also lived in the Virgin Islands. She always wanted her family to enjoy the things she enjoyed in life. She will be remembered for the love she had for her cousins, for all of her family.
What an encouragement she was to me. When I wrote my book entitled “What God Has for Me Is for Me”, she purchased over 16 copies to give to family and friends. Words cannot express how much she encouraged and motivated me. Laura told me that my book was so structured and in order, even more so than her own book.

It's been a year...and I still cannot believe that you're gone Dr. Laura. I miss you so so much. You were such a light to all around you. A strong supporter, you strong encourager of people. It was just so wonderful to see you every month or so when we were in the Bay area. It's hard to go pass your tall white condo building and you're not there... to see your warm generous smiley face. Osa and I will keep you in our hearts forever. You were very loved.
