Laura's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laura Josephine DiMarco on December 8, 2025, at the age of 92. Laura was born on July 7, 1933, in Detroit, MI, to James and Grace Vitale.
Laura met the love of her life and beloved husband, James DiMarco, in 1952. Laura and Jim were engaged on Sweetest Day, October 17, 1953, and married one year later on October 16, 1954. Laura touched the lives of so many with her profound sense of humor, warmth, creativity, curiosity, and outgoing nature. Laura possessed a brilliant mind, and an empathetic heart. Laura was a generous friend, and had an uncanny ability to connect with anyone. She had an unwavering love for her family and was a gifted cook. Laura will be missed by all who knew her.
After graduating from Dominican High School in 1951, Laura worked as a payroll manager for Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals in Detroit, where she received many awards for her service working on innovative projects. Later, she worked for Stanley Home Products, and Tupperware International. Laura received numerous Top Sales Achievement awards along with several trips and cruises to all parts of the U.S. After 42 years of service with Stanley Home Products, Laura went on to mentor new sales professionals within her retirement.
Preceded in joining the Lord: Her beloved husband, James DiMarco, and eldest son, Santo DiMarco (Dianne).
Survived by her daughters Marian Ballard (Rory), Susan Thompson (Ted), her son James DiMarco (Kathleen), grandchildren; Michael DiMarco (Shawna), Justin Ballard, Dominic DiMarco, and Anthony DiMarco. Great grandchildren, Macey DiMarco, Sophia DiMarco, Addison DiMarco, and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will all be held at Wujek Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr Road, Sterling Heights, MI 48312. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Rosary will be at 7:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the same location on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan. At 12:30PM, a lunch will take place at Fern Hill Golf Club, 17600 Clinton River Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038.
