Laura's obituary

Laura Denise Esquivel Garza, lovingly known as “Lori” by her closest friends, passed away on April 28, 2017, in Calumet City, Illinois. She was born on July 30, 1963, and was formerly a resident of Munster, Indiana.

Laura was the cherished mother of Edward Bacon Jr., Nikole Dye, Jayme Stone, and Samantha Stone. She was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her family extended to her beloved brother, Dave Garza, Niece Kristy Garza, Nephew Mark Garza and numerous cousins she held close to her heart.

Known for her kind-hearted nature and free spirit, Laura brought joy to those around her with her infectious laugh and radiant smile. She spent her days reaching out to her children, working hard, and pursuing home improvement projects. A lover of rock & roll music, Laura especially enjoyed listening to Journey and sharing meals with children at their favorite taco spot near her home in Calumet City. She also treasured watching the movie *Cars* with her grandson and relaxing with episodes of *2 Broke Girls.*

Laura’s unwavering devotion to her family was evident in the daily letters she sent to her child, each daily letter including a prayer of the day to uplift her spirits, never missing not one day. Her energy and love knew no bounds, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

May Laura’s memory continue to inspire love and laughter among those she touched during her vibrant life.
