Larry's obituary
Larry Gene “Butch” Wooten passed away on February 8, 2025, in Middleburg, Florida, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 76 years old.
Born on July 16, 1948, Butch lived a life marked by courage, loyalty, and love. He served his country honorably in the Vietnam War, where he was wounded in combat and awarded the Purple Heart. His bravery and strength were a true reflection of his character — steadfast, fearless, and full of heart.
Butch was a man of grit and spirit. He had an unwavering passion for the Florida Gators, proudly cheering them on every chance he got. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life — a cold beer, good country music, and time spent with the people he loved most.
Those who knew Butch remember a man of uncommon grit and unwavering bravery.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Christine; his children, Robert, Blue, Wayne, and Jaimie; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry, and his first wife of 31 years, Linda.
His legacy lives on through the generations of family who carry forward his spirit of perseverance and love. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting tribute to a life well lived in service and devotion.
