LARRY SELK OBITUARY
DOB - Oct. 3rd, 1942 - Estevan, SK
DOD - May 20th, 2022- New West, BC
Larry Ernest Selk took his last breath peacefully in his sleep at the age of 79 on May 20th, 2022.
Larry was born to John and Ethel (Wilson) Selk in Estevan, Saskatchewan. The eldest brother of three sisters, he spent his early years living at the M & S Mines. As a teenager, he ventured to Winnipeg where he would meet his wife, Barbara. During their marriage, they had two children, David and Carey. Larry was a skilled mechanic and loved cars. He enjoyed music, particularly the 60’s, and was a fan of Elvis. His memory, recall and wit was astonishing. During the last part of his journey he lived in British Columbia.
Larry is survived by his children David (Julie) and Carey, his sisters Joyce and Dini, along with several nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his parents, John and Ethel Selk, and sister Carol-Ann (Getz).
Gratitude to those that provided care for Larry in his final days. His determined ways, resolve and presence will be missed. An internment will be held on August 12th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estevan City Cemetery, Estevan, SK.
