Background
Larry loved everything outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and loved boating and swimming. His children fondly recall holding on for dear life as he drug them a million miles across Canyon Lake on their Bun Buster tube. He fished many tournaments at Lake Amistad and although he never actually won any of them, he had a ton of fun trying. He loved to go fishing in the Gulf and across the many lakes of Texas with his friends and family. He and Pam enjoyed countless hours in their pool, friends and family always welcomed invitations to come over and hop in, especially if they knew Larry had fired up his pit. Larry enjoyed competition barbequing and unlike the fishing tournaments, he actually won awards doing that. He was a quintessential pit master and barbequing his dogs food before he'd cook the "human food" was a normal occurrence. Larry was an amazing cook and found joy in feeding other people and also enjoyed going to festivals and trying new foods. He and his friends had an annual gumbo cookoff during the Superbowl winning more than not. He truly loved all of these things, "chilling and grilling" was a large part of Larry's life that he instilled into his kids and grandkids.
In lieu of a service or memorial, Larry requested that his loved ones honor his legacy by gathering together doing the things that he loved with the people he loved. If you feel so inclined, the family welcomes monetary donations to help make Larry's final wishes come to fruition. Contribute
