Larry's obituary

Private, Larry Pope, 84 passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at Pigeon Falls nursing home on 8/21/20. Larry was a decorated veteran who served in the Korean War.

Larry was born on 02/12/1935 in Eau Claire to his parents Leonard and Gwendolyn Pope. When he was just 17, Larry decided he wanted to join the Navy and was stationed at Barbers Point Radio School in Hawaii. Larry would go on to serve in the Korean War with some of his closest friends. After Hawaii Larry spent time abroad in Japan, Korean, Hong Kong. During his time in the Navy, he kept in touch with his high school sweetheart Luann and ended up marrying her many years later in 1969.

After moving to Eau Claire, Larry started working as a TV repairman for his own company Larry's TV repair. He worked for himself up until his retirement late 1990's.

When he wasn’t working, Larry had a passion for his Grandchildren and golf. 

Larry was predeceased by [list of family member who have passed away]. He is survived by [list of family members who are still alive].

There will be a funeral service held at 4 P.M. on September 13 at Evergreen Funeral home at 4611 Commerce Valley Rd, Eau Claire, WI 54701. With visitation starting at 2P.M. and followed by a celebration of life at Carson Park, in Eau Claire.
