LJ's obituary

Larry (LJ) James Montaño, beloved son, fiancé, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on October 26, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, at the age of 36. He was born on November 28, 1988, in Chandler, Arizona.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Larry became a true jack of all trades and a master of none. He had a remarkable ability to fix, build, and create just about anything he set his mind to. He loved spending time outdoors—camping, fishing, and enjoying the simple moments in life surrounded by those he loved most.

Larry never met a stranger; his warm heart, quick smile, and easygoing spirit drew people in wherever he went. Above all, he loved his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them.

He is survived by his loving mother, Tonna Valentine; his devoted fiancée, Victoria Hammonds; and his beloved children, Adam, Bella, and Troy. He is also survived by his sisters, Desiree McClure and Tracy Montaño; nieces, Cori Owens and Kayla McClure; and nephew, Jacob McClure.

Larry’s laughter, kindness, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held November 28, 2025 at Red Mountain Park from 11am to 1 pm
