In lieu of flowers

Please consider a contribution to Contribute to a Honorable Monument for Larry.

Background

The funds for this monument will bring peace and reconciliation to the Flournoy family. Larry's transformative contributions were not visible to the public eye, therefore we want to honor his long legacy of service by instilling a monument that will reunite him with his family and is reflective of his great lineage. The family wishes to raise funds to purchase a tombstone monument.

Larry touched the lives of thousands and spent his last days with his family upon a medical release granted by the Minnesota Commissioner for Corrections in September after becoming terminally ill. Larry was sentenced to life in prison but maintained his optimism with the excitement and hope of one day being reunited with his community. His last wish was to not die alone in prison but be grant redemption. The last three months of his life he spent with family. During his funeral service, there were a diverse set of community members from all different religions, races, and backgrounds who shared their deep appreciation and love for brother Larry Jerome Flournoy.

This token of love will make a huge impact on his family's honor and legacy. This monument will bridge the gap between the place he was born into and the place where he spent most of his adult life. Your contribution will support his homegoing to his final resting place in Missouri. The monument will be in the Flournoy Family Plot in the Sandhill Cemetary of New Madrid, Missouri.

Thank you for reading his story and your contribution to help his family lay him to rest next to his Brother, Mother, Grandparents.
