Larry's obituary

Larry Dea Hudson, a cherished father, fiancé, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025, in Lafayette, LA. Born on March 22, 1970, in Alliance, NE, to Diana McIntosh and Larry Hudson, Larry’s infectious spirit and zest for life left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Larry’s journey through life was marked by his dedication to service and community. A proud veteran of the Air Force, he carried the discipline and commitment from his military career into his role as a law enforcement officer. Later, he continued to protect and serve the community in his capacity as a Regional Loss Prevention Manager for Amazon, where his leadership and integrity were greatly valued by colleagues and associates alike.

Family was the cornerstone of Larry's world. His enduring love and devotion were evident in his relationship with his fiancée, Adrianne Sartwell, who stood by him as a partner and confidante. As a father to three sons, Peyton, Hunter, and Hayden Hudson, Larry imparted lessons of courage, honesty, and kindness. His guidance and unwavering support shaped the lives of his boys, who will carry forward his legacy with pride.

Larry was a man of many passions, with music being one of his greatest joys. Whether he was playing the drums or strumming the guitar, his talent and enthusiasm for rhythm and melody brought joy to those around him. His love for the outdoors was equally profound, as he cherished spending time at the beach or quietly hunting for morel mushrooms in the serenity of nature.

A Louisiana resident, Larry embraced the local culture with open arms and an insatiable appetite, especially during crawfish season. His love for the spicy, savory delicacies was well known among friends and family, and many will fondly remember the lively crawfish boils he hosted, filled with laughter and camaraderie.

Larry’s legacy is carried on by his loving family, including his mother, Diana McIntosh; his father, Larry Hudson; his brothers, Scotte Hungerford and Bill Hudson; and his sister, Kimberly Babbit. His memory will also be cherished by his extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

Larry’s life was a testament to the power of positivity and the impact one individual can have on the lives of many. His memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who loved him, and his spirit will continue to inspire acts of kindness and bravery for generations to come. Larry Dea Hudson will be dearly missed, but the stories of his adventures, his laughter, and his love will be recounted for years, ensuring that his presence is always near.
