Larry's obituary

Larry Curtis Adkins, 87, of Dayton, Ohio, born on December 5, 1938 entered Heaven’s gates on March 4, 2026. Larry was born to the late Ras and Myrtle Adkins in East Lynn, West Virginia. He was proud to be one of ten siblings.

Larry was a devoted husband to his wife of 64 years, Billie Gayle Adkins, and a loving father to his 5 children, Larry Curtis Adkins, Pamela Lynn Adkins, Theresa Michele Adkins, Jeffrey Allen Adkins and Richard Curtis Adkins.

Larry was a proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He took great pride in all five generations and was honored to share his legacy with anyone who would listen.

Larry was well known throughout the Dayton area as a dedicated and hardworking roofer. He spent much of his life working with his hands and took great pride in providing for his family and building a reputation for honesty and strong work ethic. His work ethic began as a young boy in the Coal Mines of West Virginia with his father. West Virginia was his home away from home, holding a very special place in his heart. He cherished every trip to and from and the quiet beauty behind each one. If he was not working, he enjoyed camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Above all, Larry was a man of strong faith. He served his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, faithfully through missionary work and daily devotions. Larry is a proud US Army Reserve Veteran.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
