Larry T. Cook, 81, of Stockton, CA, passed away on August 24, 2024.
Born on July 30, 1943, Larry graduated from Andrew Hill High School in San Jose, CA, in 1962 before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy. After four years of service, he began a successful 30+ year career with IBM in San Jose, retiring in 1999. He and his beloved wife, Virginia, then moved to San Jacinto, CA, to enjoy their retirement together.
Larry and Virginia’s love story began in the fall of 1963, and within three months, they were married. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising four children: Larry, Warren, Elizabeth, and David. Larry was a dedicated father who played an active role in his community, coaching his sons' baseball teams and serving on the school board. The Cook household was a beacon of warmth, love, and laughter, always open to friends and family.
In retirement, Larry’s greatest joy came from his growing family, with new marriages and the arrival of grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, standing faithfully by Virginia’s side during her battles with cancer, embodying the deep love and commitment they shared. Larry also enjoyed lending a hand with home projects for his children, using his handyman skills to stay active and involved.
Known for his adventurous spirit, sense of humor, and playful nature, Larry brought joy to all who knew him. His warmth, wit, and kindness will be cherished and remembered by his family and friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, Virginia; his brother Jack and Jack’s wife, Martha; his children and their spouses: Larry and Lori, Warren and Stacey, Elizabeth and Brian, and David and Michelle; along with 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Phil and Vera, and his brother, Dalton.
