There are not enough words to describe how important Larisa Vlasyuk is to her family or how wonderful of a person she is. How much she has inspired the people around her, how much she has helped and loved… Losing her is a great loss to the world. Larisa Vlasyuk is an exceptionally amazing person, wife, mother and grandmother. She has always been kind, thoughtful and pleased to help loved ones in need.
Born in Kamenets Podolski, then growing up in Kalush, Ukraine she was a blessing child according to her mother. A happy, wise, empathetic, and loving daughter. Larisa helped in raising her younger sister Tanya and set an ideal example as the eldest sibling. Times were not always easy, but Larisa made the best of things with friends and family, she always strived to be positive. Her and her family eventually moved to Kiev a completely different way of life but also a place where Larisa’s life would greatly change. While working with international students at a Ukrainian university, Larisa met Vadim who also worked at the university. She couldn’t resist his deep, soulful blue eyes. They began their relationship as the loves of each other's lives. Larisa and Vadim moved into an older house in Irpin, Ukraine and through hard work, love and help from family and friends made it a home. Soon Larisa gave birth to two sons, Vladimir and Valeriy, who, in honesty, did not make things easier for Larisa. However, Larisa being a strong and wise woman was able to take care of her kids and husband even in tough times when food and supplies were scarce. She sometimes woke up before 4am to go wait at the supermarket ensuring that food would be available to her boys. She taught them compassion, responsibility, love and respect.
Life provided a great opportunity for improvement when Larisa and her family moved to America, this is where Larisa really grabbed life by the reins and shined. Larisa was so dedicated and impressive that even with limited knowledge of the English language and while working at a fast food restaurant, she still studied to become a registered nurse. She was so driven to provide for her family and allow her kids to thrive, Larisa continued studying relentlessly and ultimately received her registered nursing license with high marks and praise from her professors and fellow students.
We are so proud of her, the efforts she put in to enable our family while starting from nothing are hard to match. Even when occupied with work or schooling, Larisa kept her home clean and made amazing meals regularly. Thinking back at the circumstances, it was an impossible situation which could only be made possible by someone like Larisa.
As her family grew and became more stable, Larisa was able to pursue her passion of traveling. She has been in many places across the world and we hope to continue traveling in her memory. Larisa always set a great life example and work ethic, thus her family thrived, her sons graduated from university, fell in love and had families. Larisa is unsurprisingly also an amazing grandmother. She is compassionate, supportive and understanding, just a wonderful example of a human being. We miss her energy, her wit, her dancing. How she made us clean and organize. Her amazing meals. Her warmth and love. We will forever love her!
