Maynard, Laraine Joyce – of Bellevile, MI, age 79, died Sunday, September 11, 2022 peacefully at her home after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Laraine was born August 13, 1943 in Detroit, MI to the late Joseph and Anna (Horack) Hussett. She married Lewis W. Maynard Jr. on November 26th, 1999 and lived in Belleville since. Laraine retired from General Motors Willow Run plant. She was a very talented artist, having completed many art classes at Eastern Michigan University. She especially enjoyed sculpting, and making award winning porcelain dolls, which she frequently gifted to her family and friends. Laraine and Lewis spent many winters in Florida, where she enjoyed going to flea markets & cooking up the fish that Lewis caught.  Laraine was an avid reader, loved butterflies, enjoyed gardening, travelling with her sister, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are: husband, Lewis Jr.; children, Dale (Hazel) Wagner, Shawn (Lisa) Wagner, Brent (Anita Stolarek) Drew; stepchildren, Anna Hilden, Lewis (Connie) Maynard III, Mona Decominada ; grandchildren Amber, Travis (Cassandra), Brendon, Jordon (Cash), Madison, Devon, Carson; step grandchildren Shirley, Lewis, Kristy, Jeremy, Leanne, Amanda, Travis, Chris, Joshua, and Nick; One great grandchild Branch; 20 step great grandchildren; and her loving sister, Delores Kucharczyk.

At Laraine and Lewis’ request, a private memorial will be planned for Laraine and Lewis in the future.
