Lanore Leigh Allen:

It is with heavy heats we say goodbye to our dear Lannie. Lannie passed away at the Orchard Villa Long term Nursing home at age 93. Lannie outlived her siblings, Echo, Dorothy Lee, and Billy Lobb. 

We remember Lannie racing her little Volkswagen across the streets of Toronto! 

Lannie was a classic beauty with blue green eyes and English peaches and cream skin.  She was a patron of the arts and loved, ballet, classical music concerts and art galleries.  Lannie loved to read and discuss current events.

Lannie was the queen of house parties and she loved to serve  hor d'oeuvres.  She had great style and ability as a hostess. She also had great ability as a home decorator.  All of her homes were lovely. decorated in her own taste and style. 

Lannie lived with a zest for living. She was adventurous and curious and she loved to travel the world.  Lannie would pick up unusual artifacts.  When I was a young woman, she introduced me to Greek coffee something no one else was drinking at the time. Lannie was all about being open minded and trying something new. She taught us to be open minded and try new things, new foods and different music and literature.

Lannie needed to always be growing and changing.  She liked to learn new things and embraced whatever she was involved in with great enthusiasm. 

Lannie had a career as a lab technician. She worked at a hospital in Scotland as a lab technician. She also travelled with a performing live music band as a singer after World War 11 in many parts of Europe. 

Lannie will be remembered by her family for her kindness and generosity and thoughtfulness towards us. Lannie thank you for teaching us to embrace new things and ideas and think outside the box. Lannie was independent and truly ahead of her time.
