This past year has been a daily struggle without our Laney. It was clear that she touched so many lives as I read through your memories of her from the memorial.  It also helped hearing from all of you at the wine event in Durango last month in support of SASO, her charity for so many years. I am so grateful to all of you who loved her.

Janice (Laney's Mom)

The year went by so fast, many times I thought of Laney; her smile, her laugh, the pure joy and passion for living she shared with all of us who spent any time with her. I give back more and take joy in the little things as a small tribute to a special soul.
Sending strength and faith to all those gathered today in Laney’s honor. May her spirit soar with your memories and love.

Steve, Janice and Justin,

We are thinking of you today and remembering Laney with much fondness. She will never be forgotten but always remembered in so many people’s hearts.

Susan and Mike Rogers

Steve and Janice...I just stumbled upon this terrible news while on vacation with my teenage daughters, and they are triggered by the fact that I won't stop hugging them. If I could shoulder some of your pain I would do it in a heartbeat. Please accept the love and condolences I am sending your way...

Laney was a classmate of mine for years at Bellehaven Elementary School, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was so cool, and kind; a combination that gave her presence an ethereal nature.
When we were 12, we unexpectedly ran into each other while skiing and our fathers allowed us to hit the slopes on our own. It was an extraordinary day of friendly competition, pushing each other to the limits. I felt so empowered. Her contagious smile beaming as the soft snow fell all around us. It was truly one of the best experiences of my childhood.
Love you, Laney, the sweetness of your legacy lives on forever in our memory.
The planet lost a beautiful human being. Our deepest sympathy and love will keep going to Steve and the Malavolta family and to Justin and the Rangel family. And our thoughts and love will forever be with Laney.
Most sincerely,
Kris Pyeatt and JT Parker

Middle school buddies on group picture day! I have so many wonderful memories with Laney in middle school. Our close group of friends was truly enriched with her smile and laughter and her brilliance. I was able to reconnect briefly at UNM and thought of her often. I always thought we’d be good friends again if we could ever reconnect. Sending love to all her family and friends who knew her well. She’ll always be a cherished part of my young life.
Sending all my love today and hoping today’s gathering brings some smiles and peace to you in such an unfathomable loss.
In loving memory of Laney....
Our sincere condolences to you, your family, friends, and community. May the memory of Laney bring you comfort and peace.
