Our hearts are broken for the loss of Laney. So many memories of Laney as a little tyke, diving off the back of the couches and dancing around the living room. She caught the bouquet at our wedding when she was all of 8 years old. Steve and Janice, we cannot imagine the depths of your loss, but we can send our love your way.

Dear Justin - I am so truly sorry for your loss. My fondest memory is bringing the kids over to see your new home and Laney’s chickens. They still remember that special evening. Laney was a ray of sunshine and one of the sweetest people I’ve known. God Bless, Kathy
At social gatherings where Laney was the only child there I enjoyed playing and visiting with her. At my wedding reception she was up close when the cake was cut and was pleased to receive my bouquet. She grew up to be an amazing woman and I was privileged to see her grow. I remember when she and Justin first dated and their obvious attraction. She is missed.

Laney, thank you for inspiring me to get outside and breath the fresh air and connect to the earth. for inspiring me and so many others to explore, both near and far. for being fearless and capable and freaking amazing at everything you tried. thank you for being the best auntie to my kids. thank you for teaching me about wine. I will miss trading boatloads of citrus for wine and eggs with you (I think I got the better end of that deal). you truly lived life as all of us should - to the fullest. and you’ve left a huge hole in our hearts.

I send my condolences to Justin, Steve, Laney's family and friends. It is at times like these that the belief in an afterlife is most comforting. Though we all leave this plane of existence eventually, Laney is gone too soon. I did not know her personally but through Steve and those who have graciously shared their experiences and memories of her here, I know her spirit. It saddens me to realize that I have missed an opportunity to know this remarkable woman who has dearly touched so many lives in so many ways. Rest in peace Laney.
Laney was a wonderful human! …
Laney was a wonderful human! I don’t know exactly how our paths crossed but I think it was Shea who set our ladies group up. Just over two years ago, we started taking golf lessons and we were a foursome teamed together as golf newbies. Learning a new skill is not easy, and we all showed up to practice at the driving range and it was an exciting day when we actually got to play the Dalton course. Laney was a thrill to play golf with. She was so excited when her swings really sent the golf balls flying on the driving range, even hitting the flags a few times and we all laughed, or when we played a hole and didn’t send the balls into a trap or the weeds. Laney was confident, and patient with herself, and we found many proud moments in each other as we celebrated our progress learning golf. She spoke warmly of Justin, and their shared interest in the sport. I don’t think golfing at Dalton will ever be the same now that Laney is no longer with us, our foursome, now down to three; there’s a hole in our team, as there’s a hole in the hearts of her loved ones she leaves behind. If you play Dalton, play a game or a hole in her memory, or try to hit the distance markers on the driving range. I’m sure she would’ve really liked that.
Dear Justin, and Family,
We are heartbroken to hear of this news. We donated to a couple of her charities. Such wonderful memories posted here. Sending love and hugs. May her memory live on forever.
Love,
Candice

Back in the day, friends and I shared many fun times with Laney in the great outdoors exploring. She was always bright, cheerful, and enthusiastic. I feel grateful for my time knowing this wonderful woman and am deeply saddened by her untimely departure from this earth.
We are heartbroken to hear of Laneys passing. We have so many fond memories of the girls during the Bellehaven/Grant days! So many after school play dates and sleepovers. I remember hair wraps, bowler hats and friendship bracelets! We will always remember the happy, fun loving, intelligent girl that Laney was! What a tremendous loss. We send our deepest condolences to all who loved her.
