Lane's obituary

It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lane Aaron Humphrey, a beloved child, cousin, and friend, whose light touched countless lives. Lane’s journey ended far too soon, but the impact they made in their time here will be remembered and cherished forever.

Lane was a gifted soul with endless creativity. They had an artist’s heart and a mind like no one else—able to turn emotions into music, words, and art that inspired everyone around them. A talented writer and musically creative spirit, Lane expressed himself in ways that spoke deeply to others, leaving behind not only memories but pieces of beauty that will continue to live on.

Beyond artistic gifts, Lane had a brilliant and curious mind. They loved engaging in politics, current events, and conversations that challenged ideas. They were passionate about equality, fairness, and kindness, often advocating for others and encouraging those around them to see the world through a lens of compassion.

Though their talents and intellect were extraordinary, it was Lane’s heart that truly set them apart. They valued people, listened deeply, and extended kindness without hesitation. Their ability to see and bring out the good in others made them someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Lane spent the majority of life in Haltom City, where they dedicated himself to their community in meaningful ways. They accomplished many great things—big and small—that left a lasting mark on those around them. Whether through their art, their words, or their actions, Lane poured themself into everything they believed in, reminding us all of the power of creativity, intelligence, and compassion.

Lane will be remembered as a beacon of love, talent, and authenticity. They were more than just a family member or friend— they were a rare soul who challenged us to live with kindness, fight for what’s right, and appreciate the beauty in life.

They will be deeply missed but forever celebrated by all who knew and loved them.

Lane is survived by their loving mother, Selina Humphrey, and  father, Jeffry Humphrey; brothers, Davis, Jude, and River Humphrey; grandparents, Mickey Allen and Jerry Allen; uncles, Kevin Bussard, Chris Bussard, Marc Humphrey, and Donald Humphrey; aunts, Shane Webb and Danielle Dunavin; cousins, Allen Geer, Scarlett and Annabel Webb, Keith Acree Jr., Ali Humphrey, Brendon Powell, and Logan Humphrey; and great-aunt and great-uncles, Barbara Miller, Lisa Geer, and Edmund Geer.

Lane was preceded in death by their great-grandmother, Fay Brown; great-grandfather, Jerry Smith; great-uncle, Johnnie Miller; and grandmother, Tanya Walston.

They are also remembered with love by many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish Lane’s memory.
