Dear Chris, Josh, Jerod and Deshaon,  I just came across this obituary and, even though it is one year since her passing, I wanted to reach out to you.  I worked with your Mother for many years but lost touch once she retired.  I have many fond memories and stories and will revisit these many times in the next few days after the initial shock of this sets in.

As one who worked with your Mom for many years, I can attest to her being a fine person, a child advocate and a good friend.  She worked tirelessly to help student reach their potential and was a true advocate for them.  She kept me grounded and was a wise, sensitive colleague.  I know that she loved you boys, was very proud of you and had no qualms in saying so.

I hope these words give you some comfort in this Holiday season which is coming to a close.

To the Smith family. I graduated from Palmer and I remember your mom! She was very kind and always willing to help us students! God bless you during this difficult time!

I loved working with Lana at Palmer High. She was a true professional - so good at her job. The kids loved her as well as the staff. I also enjoyed a great friendship with her other than at Palmer. I’ve missed her these years of her illness. I’ll always remember her with love and fondness. Great times and wonderful memories!!! Love and condolences to the family. Marge Sandoval

I met Lana when I went back to school at Regis University and made a midlife career change to teaching high school. Lana was one of my teachers, my mentor and became a dear friend. She was kind, smart, fun, encouraging and overall a lovely person. She dearly loved her family, her dogs, her students, and her friends. She always had a smile and gave so much. My deepest sympathies to her family.
My condolences to Lana's family. I first met Lana when we were 10 years old and, after moving, I was the "new  kid in school".  At recess Lana came over, sat down on the steps of the school with me, offered her friendship and welcomed me to my new school.  I will always be thankful for the kindness and friendship she extended to me!  I send my most sincere sympathy to her family.

I was heartbroken to hear that my friend, Lana, died.  I was her secretary at Palmer and she was amazing.  We shared deep conversations even after we both retired from Palmer.  I enjoyed watching her boys grow up.  Moving to Montana cut me off but I still think of all four of you.  YourMom will continue to watch over you and probably continue to laugh!    Kitty

What an amazing, dear friend! Lana and I were friends since 5th grade,  from the crazy, fun school days, to a summer in Europe with friends, and even our families had visited there in Colorado and back here in Dayton, Ohio.  These 65 years of friendship is gift I will always cherish in my heart.  My prayers for the families,  in Friendship and Faith,  Jeanie.
Mrs Smith  was my English teacher at Sproul. I loved learning from her. I’m saddened to hear of her passing. May you find peace and comfort in the days ahead.
Prayers go out to you and the family. I know how much she ment you to all.

I graduated from Widefield in 1972. Mrs. Smith was my English lit teacher during my junior year. She was young, energetic and full of life. Her persistent smile revealed a love of life that served as an inspiration to everyone around her. Condolences to the family.

Your mom was one of my favorite, favorite teachers at Widefield (Class of ‘72).  I adored her more than I can ever say. She taught me so much about literature and composition, and made me a better writer. I applied her lessons throughout college and my career as a paralegal.

You all have my deepest and most sincere sympathies.

May your mom forever rest in peace. 💔 My heart is broken.
