Lana's obituary

It's with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Lana Mary Haggerty of Edmonton, Alberta. At age 49, on Wednesday, November 09, 2022 she gained her heavenly wings.

Lana was born on Febuary 9th, 1973 in High Prairie, Alberta to Francis, and Carol Haggerty. Her mother raised her in Enilda,Alberta alongside her twin sister, and brother until the age of 2 when they moved to Edmonton. She lost her mother at a young age, leaving her siblings and herself to be raised by their grandmother and aunt(s). At 16 she finished Grade 10 while passing with honours, then began working full time as a nanny and soon moved into her first apartment with her then boyfriend. In 1994 she gave birth to her son Curits, making her a mother for the first time. In the late 90's, Lana worked as a housekeeper at a motel, she was cleaning a room when she came across someone's silly cigarettes, and chose to confront them. That happened to be Joe Lamb, who became the father of her second son, Jesse, in 1999; and father of her only daughter, Jodie, in 2000. She was a stay-at-home mom while Joe worked long shifts, often far from home. She spent time singing karoke, caring for the household and children, and involving them with as much after school activities as possible in such a rural area, even putting Jodie in Girl Guides Sparks. Often making arrangements with her sister to get their kids together for things like boating at Bear Lake, or even just playing in the backyard. Lana moved back to Edmonton in 2005, where she met the father of her youngest child, Jacob, born the summer of 2007.

Throughout the years, Lana has become very well known to her community in Edmonton and has touched the hearts of many with her sweet, humorous, and understaings ways, showing acceptance to people from all walks of life. She's recognized for her carefree and uplifting spirit; her ability to enjoy the moment, to laugh and live each day as it came. She loved, and is loved. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her friends, family, and all who got the privledge to know her.

Lana was predeceased by her mother, Carol Haggerty. She is survived by her sons; Curtis, Jesse, and Jacob; daughter Jodie; sister Lynn; and all her family and friends.
