Labretta's obituary
Labretta "BrettaBug" Edmondson, a jubilant light in the world, born on September 20, 1973, blessedly ended her earthly journey on April 7, 2024. Her radiating presence and her infectious positivity left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her.
Throughout life, Brettabug was an epitome of love and selflessness, always putting others before herself. A woman of immense strength and positivity, she always encouraged everyone to “accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative” in their lives.
One of Brett’s most significant accomplishments was her noble commitment of serving as a pediatric nurse for 28 years. Her empathetic nature and care brought hope and smiles to countless ailing children and their families. We all know that her most cherished accomplishment of hers was being a “BaBa”, a role she embraced with abundant love and joy. She was a blessing to her two beautiful grandsons, Hendrix & Tyson. They knew nothing but unconditional love from their Baba.
Her legacy is not confined to her accomplishments alone. A legacy of love, generosity, and understanding will always resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Brett’s effervescent spirit remains an inspiration for all, a constant reminder of the transformative power of kindness and positivity.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Taelor, her brilliant son, Christian & her ever-cherished husband & best friend of 33 years, Maurice. Furthermore, she is survived by her 1 sister Cynthia Daniel, 2 brothers Joseph Bell Jr, and Cory Bell, and countless uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The bond shared between Brett and her family was harmonious and profound. Family was always the center of Labretta’s universe and the source of her immense pride and joy.
As per the wishes of Labretta, a Celebration of her Life will be held on April 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at 9227 Lookout Mesa Dr. She always wanted us to celebrate her life, not mourn her death, and hence, the occasion will honor her wishes, reflecting love, joy, and unity.
